The Worlds Largest Eye Care Company

Another area of community involvement is provided by Alcon Laboratories, the world's largest eye care company, of which Nestle is the major shareholder. Alcon has for more than 40 years supported thousands of caring physicians in global charitable efforts aimed at preserving and restoring sight to the less fortunate. Through this program, Alcon annually contributes ophthalmic surgical products and medicines to more than 900 medical missions in more than 85 countries. This support helps restore vision to tens of thousands of individuals in developing countries, allowing them to regain their independence and enjoy richer, fuller lives. Alcon is also a global partner with Orbis, the world's only flying eye hospital, through its "Leading the Way to a World Without Blindness" Program. This partnership supports educational programs for eye care professionals in developing countries, generating better patient care while working to eliminate avoidable blindness.
