Our leading beverage MILO sponsored a team of 15 participants to take part in The Dettol Heart Run 2005 which is an annual charity event attracting over 7,000 people. Their objective is to raise funds towards a life-saving effort of carrying out open-heart surgeries for children with cardiac problems from economically disadvantaged families.
MILO sponsored this event through monetary contribution as well as sampling our products to the runners/walkers. We managed to sample about 4500 people on the said day and our beverage was well received and coined the phrase “energy as you walk”. There were other big sponsors such as Coca Cola who sampled their bottled water DASANI.
As a reward for participation, we received a plaque. We intend to continue sponsoring and participating in this annual event.
Nestlé Kenya is partnering with a local community group in Ndenderu to produce banana fibre boxes that will be used in the hotel rooms as satchet holders for our products. This project will facilitate income generation activities for the youth in the area.
