BABELEGI: Peer educators raised R10.000 from the tournament organised by the factory, KAIZER CHIEFS RESERVE SIDE VS THEMBA YOUTH, while Corporate services donated another 10.000. The money will be donated to Nomasonto children's home. Peer educators and the HR manager visited the children's home to donate some sweets to the children.
STANDERTON: Peer educators and community members initiated the Tshepho Themba food gardening project to grow and sell vegetables to the community and factory canteen. The money raised will be donated to SANTA.
ESTCOURT: Community members visited the children's ward and TB patients at the Estcourt provincial hospital where Milo and sweets were donated to patients. Peer Educators,together with community structures, conducted an HIV/AIDS awareness week at Wembezi community hall to teach community members on HIV/AIDS. Nestle donated hampers for prize giving in drama, poetry and music.
BELLEVILLE: The peer educators will train the Joe Slovo Park community members on home based care. This will provide family members with care training on how to wash, feed and administer medicine to the patient at home.
PRETORIA: Furniture and utensils were donated to the Laudium police station in Pretoria for the room used for counselling rape victims and which provides privacy and comfort.
BETHAL: A two day lifeskill training for teenagers which focuses on sexuality and HIV/AIDS.
