  • The Project Training of Young Farmers (FORJA)
Mr. Christian Steiner, Director of Training of the Young Farmers program, sponsored by HELVETAS, with Diego Blanco, representing Nestlé.

The Project Training of Young Farmers (FORJA) has been formed by agreement with many institutions sponsored by the Swiss Association for International Cooperation (HELVETAS). Since 2002, Nestlé Dominicana has supported this program for training young farmers.

FORJA's objective is to develop a new generation of young farmers with a business oriented mentality. It offers technical and practical training in agriculture production techniques and at the same time supporting and financing innovative and feasible micro businesses that could drive the young producer to develop his business potential.

Nestlé Dominicana supports the future of the country's agriculture by financing this project through scholarships for farmers' children and offers facilities for practical training at the milk farms.

Mr. Diego Blanco, Regional Manager of Regulatory Affairs, and Institutional Relations presents a cheque to the FORJA Director, Mr. Christian Steiner.
