Nestlé Peru is aware of the importance of supporting the development of the poor districts of Lima.  With this in mind,  we have been conducting a travelling, nutrition-education project with great success, with our Nutrimovil Nestlé, which is a specially-adapted vehicle that offers free consulting services on nutrition education.

The “Nutrimovil Nestlé” has four specialists in the field of nutrition, who provided approximately 25,000 free consultations in year 2004 and increasingly more in 2005 and 2006.

The project has opened mutual cooperation with district municipalities, schools and social institutions concerned about the health of these areas of Lima.  The Dean of the Peruvian Association of Nutritionists, Isabel Guzmán Ganoza, has highlighted Nestlé’s campaign, as in her words it is a praiseworthy  project in favor of the community.

Besides a constant presence in newspapers and magazines, the most consistent and permanent achievements of this community education program are: 1) our column “Nutrition, Health and Wellness” in “El Trome” Newspaper, the daily paper with the greatest number of readers in Peru, 2) our TV space “Feeling Good” transmitted by Channel 7, a national network, within the show “Hello Peru”, and finally 3) the radio campaign called “Feeding our Future” transmitted by one of the most reliable news broadcasters at national level; this campaign is to provide people with information on basic nutrition subjects and on the different stages of people’s life, with useful tips that can be applied to their daily meals.
