The Mori Hospital

The Foundation Vision for All was created in 2002 by a group of Swiss eye surgeons. Presided by Dr André Mermoud, eye specialist and professor at the university hospital of Lausanne, Vision for All has built a hospital in the village of Mori in the Andrha Pradesh province of India. The population of the region is 75 million and the majority are "untouchables" and live in squalid conditions.

Nestlé and sister company Alcon have contributed both financially and in-kind to this project by offering state-of-the art laser equipment both to the Mori hospital and to a mobile unit. The primary activities of both are to treat cataracts, cornea problems and glaucoma.
