To help empower the local communities in rural areas by providing equal education opportunities, Nestlé partnered UK NGO Raleigh International to provide pre-school education for young children.

Nestlé funds the building construction and provides teaching materials, and works with another NGO – PACOS – to train a local as a teacher; helping ensure the viability and sustainability of the project. Nestlé also helps encourage volunteerism by sponsoring local Malaysian youth to be part of the project.

Three kindergartens have been established since 2005, with another this year. Annually, there are some 25 pre-school children aged between 4-6 years, attending the kindergartens.
