Computers donated to SOS villages

To help promote universal primary education in rural areas, which stand in urgent need of development, Nestlé Pakistan undertakes rehabilitation and refurbishing of existing primary and middle schools that have been set up by the government but lack facilities and need assistance. Three such schools have been rehabilitated in 2004 and more are under rehabilitation. Nestlé Pakistan has also entered into partnership with specialised NGOs to adopt these refurbished schools under an Adopt a School Program of the government – a long term commitment to improving and sustaining the quality of education through provision of teaching aids and teacher training. The fact that student enrolment has almost doubled in these schools speaks of the success of this program.

Nestlé Pakistan extends financial support to the Lahore University of Management Sciences – a premier business school, and starting this year the Company will be offering scholarships for graduate studies in selected disciplines to disadvantaged youth in specialized institutions.

The Company also donates computers to high schools in needy communities to enable disadvantaged children to step into the world of technology.
