For Nestlé, respect and responsibility for the environment is an integral part of its broader commitment to sustainable development. Therefore, Nestlé Pakistan follows an integrated approach to policy and decision making in which long term economic growth, environmental protection and social achievements are not incompatible, but are complementary and mutually dependent.

This is done in a number of ways. The Company fully complies with the government regulations as well as Nestlé’s internal guidelines within its manufacturing facilities. The objective is to maximize eco-efficiency – that is to maximize production of goods, while at the same time, minimizing consumption of resources and reducing waste and emissions. The focus is on reduction of gas emissions, wastewater reduction and treatment, finding packaging solutions to minimize solid waste generation and training and awareness programs for factory workers.

Nestlé Pakistan also frequently contributes to WWF Programs on environment, sponsors seminars and television programs to create public awareness about environment related issues.
