Nestlé Group Thailand has participated in the Thai Business Group for Rural Development or the T-BIRD Project with the aim to harness and utilize private business sector resources for the well-being of underprivileged villagers in Thailand’s remote areas.

For its initial project, Nestlé, in cooperation with the Population and Community Development Association, launched a T-BIRD Fund to make 200,000 baht available as revolving loans to the villagers of Makua Sub-district, Sung Noen District, Nakhon Ratchasima province. The loans are intended for villagers to establish their own businesses or to generate extra income. Additional contributions are provided for education, library building, temple improvement and charitable causes.
The loan has now grown to 473,000 Baht.
