It is a long standing tradition for Nestle Bulgaria to support different programmes for the intellectual and physical development of young people. On the occasion of its 10 years anniversary Nestle Bulgaria undertook a number of initiatives.
One of them was the sponsorship of the 3rd edition of forum Careers 2004 – Good Career, Good Life organized by "Bulgarian Dream" programme of Ministry of Transport and Communication and JobTiger. The company plans to turn this sponsorship into a tradition.
For the first time the forum was organized in 3 cities in Bulgaria: Sofia, Plovdiv and Varna. Its major goal is to unite the efforts in finding new opportunities for professional realization of students and young graduates, as well as to assist the employers in their internship programmes and personnel recruitment process.
The decision of Nestle Bulgaria to become a General sponsor of Careers 2004 is a natural continuation of the Company`s internship programme developed through the years. Over 40 interns and trainees had the opportunity to work on specific projects in accordance with the standards of the world’s leading food and beverages company. Nestlé Bulgaria has implemented an active social policy for 10 years now, one of its main goals being to help developing the potential of young people in Bulgaria.
Another initiative was Dreams and Teams project. It is a British Council project with duration May 2004 – March 2006 that aims at developing the leadership potential of young people and social inclusion of young disabled people through sport. BC Bulgaria is implementing a 3-year project Our Life, Our Ideas with the Centre of Independent Life (CIL), a Bulgarian NGO, and the International Disability Equality Agency (IDEA), UK NGO. Key partner is Ministry of Youth and Sport - the Sport Facilities department - currently involved in running sports activities for people with disabilities. Other partners are Ministry of education and science, The Centre for independent life, Youth sport trust charitable foundation.
Nestle became part of the project's public first event MINI-SPORTS INTEGRATED CHILDREN'S FESTIVAL. The company's slogan Good Food, Good Life matched perfectly to the long-term goals the organisers have set themselves - to contribute for a better life by encouraging team spirit in the youngest generation of Bulgaria, and to do this by making little or no distinction between their diverse physical abilities.
