Nestlé Italy, in collaboration with the publisher Fratelli Alinari, has published two books. The first with the Perugina brand is about the history of chocolate - “Sweet and bitter, history and stories from cocoa to chocolate”. The second, about the Italian classic Christmas cakes: “Sweet Christmas - Panettone and Pandoro. An Italian tradition”. Nestlé Italy contributed with its historical photographs that witness the importance of our brands, Motta and Alemagna, as ambassadors of Italy to the world.
Founded in 1885 in Florence, Fratelli Alinari is the most important publishing firm for art books, exhibition catalogues and historical photographs in Italy.
Perugino’s Exhibition
Nestlé Italy (Perugina) sponsored the exhibition “Perugino, the divine painter”, an important initiative created in Perugia (Umbria). The aim of the sponsorship is to reinforce the link between Perugina and the Territory: a continuous and positive dialogue that sees the company, built in Perugia in the 1907, witness to several local artistic events, such as the restoration of the altar piece “The Ascension of Christ” by Il Perugino, the restoration of the “Loggia dei Lanari” in Perugia and the sponsorship of “Umbria Jazz”, the international musical festival.
“Perugino’s Exhibition”, the most popular show in Italy in 2004, with an affluence of around 800,000 visitors, gave Nestlé the opportunity to strengthen its presence in the Umbria region and highlight the positive perception of the Nestlé image in the Territory.
Pietro Vannucci, the real name of Perugino, is one of the most famous artists of the Italian Renaissance (The artistic period between the middle of the 15th and the end of the 16th centuries).
