Nestlé has been working with the Banco Alimentare Foundation for more than 12 years. It's a non-profit association that gathers the surplus of foodstuffs from food companies and distributes them to those in need.
Also this year Nestlé Italy contributes to Banco Alimentare activities giving food and grocery products.
Banco Alimentare which opened its first Italian office in 1989, today helps more than 6'480 associations that assist the needy.
Every day more than 1.1 million people receive food from Banco Alimentare. Every year Banco Alimentare organises the "Colletta Alimentare" (Food Collection). Voluntary helpers collect items of food and groceries outside shops all over the country.
