For a number of years Nestlé has been a principal sponsor of Défi, an outdoor sports competition between representatives from different companies in Switzerland.

In 2004 the event took place in Leysin, in the Vaudoises Alps. Nestlé was represented by an all-male team and by the only all-female team among the other 34 participating teams; both performed honourably.

Sports vary each year and include: VTT, archery, running, canoeing, road cycling, obstacle courses, swimming, and many others.
