Several phases are involved in the implementation of the first area of involvement of the Nutrir programme.
1. Training Teachers
Nutrir trains teachers to focus on various aspects contained in topics like nutritional education, hygiene and physical activity. These important social actors multiply the knowledge in the classroom, including them in the school curricular programme.

2. Training Children
The target is the children from fourth to seventh grade at Schools in Quito, Guayaquil and Cayambe. Childhood is a very important period to develop healthy eating habits and a healthy lifestyle that will prevent eating disorders.
3. The Nutrir Fair
The Nutrir Fair is an artistic-playful activity that reinforces the nutrition eduction provided in the schools. The activities at the Fair revolve around a play providing fun nutrition education.

4. Training Workshops
The workshops are directed to mothers, women's associations, foundations, governmental and nongovernmental institutions, neighbourhood organisations and Universities.

Three training workshops are carried out :
- Nutritional Education and Food Safety
- Organic Homemade Orchards
- Preparation of nutritious recipes
The programme is implemented in urban public schools located in Quito, Guayaquil and Cayambe. All of these chosen institutions build efforts for the improvement of children's nutrition and health conditions.

Since its inception, Nutrir has also extended its educational programme at the Solidarity Centre Santiago Apostol of the "Accion Solidaria" Foundation. The workshops have had a positive impact by teaching the children two courses: "Nutritional Education and Food Safety" and "Preparation of nutritious recipes".

Furthermore, Nutrir supports the centre financially in its daily provision for food, in the maintenance of the school and supporting the payment of teachers and tutors.
