In 2008 Nestlé Panamá launched its employee volunteer programme, Escuelita Nestlé ABC, with more than 40 employees from our Head Office actively participating in teaching nutrition to a group of 400 children in a local public school.
This activity allows our employees to share their time in giving helpful health-related information in the form of 5 module nutrition courses.
The prime focus of the activities revolves around the importance of food for growth. The volunteers introduce the food pyramid and the benefits of a healthy and balanced diet. The children learn examples of healthy snacks and practice these newly acquired skills through game and play. In order to keep the children's attention, dancing and singing activities entertain them through the course.
In return, volunteers enjoy rewarding experiences with these underprivileged students.
