Crecer Bien is a nutritional education project that works to initiate nutritional and healthy eating habits through school.
23% of the children in San Juan de Lurigancho, the largest district and one of the poorest areas in Peru, suffer from malnutrition problems. For this reason, it was chosen as the location for the pilot phase of this project.

This initiative led by Nestlé in collaboration with the Peruvian Government is a step forward to including nutrition education as part of the national curriculum for the early years and first two years of junior school. Crecer Bien is an innovative educational tool which introduces learning about nutrition and hygiene to improve school children's knowledge of good eating habits.
While hoping to expand this programme nationwide, it currently reaches 25'000 people (counting an average of 5 people per family), including 5,000 students of 3-8 years of age, their families and 200 teachers in 24 public schools.
