Agutayan Artificial Reef Project

The Cagayan de Oro (CDO) Factory is a major sponsor of the Giant Clam Seeding Activity in Agutayan Reef, in coordination with the Marine Eco-System Council (MEC). Hundreds of giant clams have been seeded within the sanctuary, in order to reintroduce the near extinct giant clams in Philippine waters.

The Agutayan Artificial Reef Project of the CDO Factory aims to improve the reef environment at the Agutayan Marine Sanctuary in Jasaan, Misamis Oriental through the installation of concrete and steel artificial reef modules. The improved reef environment continue to help increase fish population, improve fish catch for local fishermen, and boost local tourism by attracting more divers and visitors in the area.
