A Jugar (Let's Play!) is a programme promoting healthy lifestyles and hydration in schools. To take part in the project, children collect Nestlé Pureza Vital water labels to be traded for school sports equipment and educational school excursions which in turn promote physical activity.
This initiative started in 2009 and is jointly presented with "Nutrir", a programme promoting healthy eating habits in schools, in order to integrate awareness of healthy lifestyles to this nutrition, health and wellness campaign.
Children from schools in Merida, Campeche, Tabasco, Oaxaca, Guadalajara, Puebla, Chilpancingo, Zacatecas, San Luis Potosi, Queretaro, Pachuca, Toluca, Morelia, Mexico City and Acapulco took part in the program in 2008 - amounting to 2'150 schools.
Among activities organised: hydration and good nutrition tips learned through a workshop called “10 signs of good nutrition” sponsored by NIDO, and special activities days where children can exercise on inflatable games.
In 2009, a NUTRIR kit, called “Nurturing kit”, will be distributed to schools taking part in the programme, with dynamic and fun nutrition educational material. This Nurturing kit includes material to support teachers in educating children about healthy nutrition habits.
