Nutrition in Uruguay

Vascolet Calcium Project

The goal of this project is to contribute to the improvement of children's consumption of calcium. In Uruguay, 25% of children aged 6 years old do not consume the daily calcium requirements.  At 11 years old, 70% of children are concerned (Source: Primary Education Council).  This situation is a concern to mothers and to the National Public Health authorities.

This initiative is directed to children in private and public schools in Montevideo. Through this project, we hope to educate parents and children about the importance of calcium in their daily consumption habits.  Among our activities are the distribution of information brochures specifically directed to parents about the benefits of calci-N, sampling and sport demonstrations in schools as well as dispatching of traffic stoppers with VASCOLET's design around the schools in Montevideo.
